PropertyDuds is the brainchild of some poor unsuspecting suckers who went to view a property after seeing it online, only to be sorely disappointed upon arrival. It was concluded that the lister of said property should immediately be sent to the Maury Povich show to be authenticated for Planet Stupid!
The property, which was deliciously featured as a dreamy delight, was a definite dud! It was the worst of the worst! Walls cracking and ceilings falling down as you walk through the dank, dimly lit, moldy, musty scented hallways to Hell… The “Indoor Pool” that so glistened in the online listing was merely surrounded by a breezeway with falling down rotting wood particles holding up the leaking roof and the pool water looked like some sort of half-baked science project gone really sideways. This list could go on and on but have a little looksy below. Compare the listing when viewed in person as opposed to how it was showcased online.

Your credit score is very precious and the more hits the lower your score can drop so pull your own report before mortgage shopping and know what you have to work with.
Some of our competitors feel they can determine a property’s worth by sitting behind a desk, guessing, and saying it’s all determined by analyzing ‘Recent property, neighborhood, & sales data’… Well that may be what they do but it doesn’t make it right or accurate. Every property is different in it’s own way. There could be changes, repairs, new damages their ‘Guessers’ can’t see… Go see the properties you’re interested in for yourself and with your own two eyes so you can make the best decision.
Read as many reviews and comments as possible and go over any photos available in order to make the best and most informed decision about homes you view.
If you haven’t got an appointment or are unable to make one you shouldn’t just show up on someone’s property unannounced or expected.
Under no circumstances should you ever make an offer on a property without the knowing hand of a licensed attorney in the state you are purchasing to guide you. It can be a mucky process.
Sometimes things aren’t as advertised and people can misrepresent themselves or a situation as well. It wouldn’t be right to give inaccurate details out of frustration. Do your best to stick to the true and honest facts.
We all love a great deal but keep in mind sometimes when it seems to good to be true it actually is. Verify all details before putting an offer on a property, even if it’s just a cheap old dud. It could be binding even if only verbal.
PropertyDuds’ point and purpose is to give everyone an honest look at what they’re getting into before you’re in too deep; not to chase anyone away. Look at and evaluate each property before walking away from the flawed ones. Be honest whether looking or listing. There are great deals out there!
There are many details kept on properties that never make it online. You would do well to take a trip to your local Town Hall or County Clerk and see what you can dig up on a dud before you buy.
